Individual and business coaching
Business coaching is personal, individual coaching. It helps a person to develop and adopt existing, sometimes hidden strengths so that they contribute to success at work. Coaching releases potential and leads to new perspectives.
Coaching helps with for example
- taking on a new role
- developing managerial skills
- improving personal communication skills
- succeeding in project management.
Coaching is always goal-oriented. Consistency of company and individual goals is ensured at the beginning and end of the process through a discussion involving the coach, the coachee, and his or her supervisor.
The coaching process usually consists of 5-6 appointments every few weeks.
I am a certified Business Coach (by the International Coach Federation).
”In the coaching sessions I got concrete tools to lead a big project and team. Päivi is an inspiring and constructive coach who appropriately challenged my own thought patterns. During our meetings I found new resources and new inspiration. For me, Päivi’s strong experience and understanding of the challenges of communications work also clearly added value to the coaching” – communications development manager in an international listed company
“During Päivi´s coaching sessions, I gained many insights that helped me see my own situation more clearly, how I can better support my team, better identify my own resources, and what things to focus on in a facilitative sense”, Mia Lönnberg, financial manager, Destia Oy
Group coaching is the coaching of individuals that is carried out in a group – the individual and his or her development are to be coached. The members of the group are united by a common theme, i.e.the topic of coaching.
- It is used for example
- taking over a new supervisory role
- for talents as part of career development
- in support of the organizational change process
- in the development of working life skills.
The benefits of group coaching include, for example, learning from others, peer support, developing coaching skills, and cost-effectiveness.
The coaching process usually consists of 5-6 appointments of 2-3 hours every few weeks. Sessions can also be made remotely.
The coach does not consult, advise, or teach, but is responsible for advancing and guiding the process towards its goals.
I have a diploma in group and team coaching.
“Group coaching gave me not only confidence but also self-criticism in the right proportion. It increased my creativity and I realized new ways of approaching leadership and taking responsibility. Päivi’s solution-oriented, inspiring and positive attitude has helped me to be motivated and also to cope with even difficult work situations and patterns.
During Päivi´s group coaching we learned and got new ideas, and all participants solved problems together.. I was immediately able to put into practice the tips I received from others, as well as new attitudes and approaches we considered together. Päivi was a “shaker” who knew how to guide the group to find new and even surprising solutions.
I found group coaching inspiring and impressive. We were allowed to share personal insights and experiences with others and learn from them. It was also comforting to note that others are struggling with the same things. Each one of us also identified something concrete that we would try to take immediately into everyday life. In this way, coaching immediately gained practical benefits. Päivi took care that everyone was taken into account equally”- the head of the state expert organization
In team coaching, the entire team is being coached as a unit. The team is united by a common goal. It is, for example, a management team, department, project team, product development team, or alliance.
The focus is on how to harness the strengths of individuals to support team efforts and development. At the same time, personal skills are also developed.
The benefits of team coaching, for example: growing awareness of strengths andweaknesses, increased opportunity to discuss even difficult issues under the guidance of an outsider, and shared learning, knowledge and experiences.
Used for example
- clarifying the basic mission and objectives
- developing modes of operations
- creating rules of the game, developing cooperation
- supporting the implementation of the project
- developing the team to the next level
- coping with special situations such as change or conflict
- supporting team building
Alongside team coaching, individual coaching can also be used during the process to support individual development.
The process typically involves 5-6 appointments, lasting about 2-3 hours every few weeks. The coach does not consult, advise, or teach, but is responsible for advancing and guiding the process towards jointly defined goals.
I have a diploma in group and team coaching.
Mentoring is the transfer of experience and knowledge from the more experienced to the more inexperienced. It enhances personal learning and development.
My 15 years of experience as a communications director and my more than 30 years of experience as a communications pro serve as a good foundation for mentoring communications professionals.
